This platform lays out my commitment to return power to the People, rebuild transparency, and ensure justice that serves every citizen.
Renewing Grand Jury Oversight
I will protect the independence of the Grand Jury -- the People's shield against tyranny -- in full alignment with our Constitutions, the landmark 1992 U.S. v. Williams ruling highlights, and 1,000 years of history.
Under my leadership:
- The Grand Jury will be chosen by the People -- not picked by judges or compromised by political power.
- It will have authority to hear complaints, including public corruption.
- Members will be trained on their constitutional rights, duties, and authority.
- It will have the tools and resources to fulfill its vital role.
Bringing Transparency To Our Courthouse
Justice thrives in sunlight. I will restore public trust by allowing all People -- after normal security screening -- to bring smartphones and electronic devices into our courthouse, as is common in other jurisdictions.
Debunking the myths:
- Myth: Phones bias testimony.
Fact: People influence testimony, not devices. - Myth: Electronics are a safety risk.
Fact: Properly screened devices fly on airplanes every day. - Myth: Phones cause disruption.
Fact: Disruptive people -- not devices -- will be removed or fined.
Transparency strengthens justice. The People deserve access, not exclusion.
Conducting Independent Audits Of The VBSO
I will commission audits to examine:
- Jail Deaths: Why have +20 lives been lost in 8 years? No more preventable Rolin Hill tragedies
- Jail Operations: Budgets, contracts, and management -- including:
- Canteen pricing, fairness, and product availability.
- Inmate phone costs and access.
- Medical costs currently cost ~$22,000/day.
Establishing A Justice Review Committee
A qualified, community-based panel will review inmate cases to ensure due process and constitutional protections for every person -- equally, without bias.
Bringing Healing And Hope To Our Jail
Partnering with local churches and community leaders, I will bring Celebrate Recovery Inside -- a proven, faith-based program for healing, recovery, and restoration for inmates and their families.
